getting started
It’s so great
to have you with us
Here are a few quick guides to help you set things up and bring your team on board.
invite your team
One QR code for the whole org
The fastest way to onboard everyone at once. Generate a reusable invite, put the QR on a slide, a poster, or a Slack message, and people join by scanning the QR code.
-
1
Open Invitations in the dashboard
settings Administration chevron_right Invitations
priority_high Only Org Admins and Admins can create organization invitations. -
2
Create a Multi-Use invite
Choose Multi-Use, give it a name your team will recognise (e.g. “Design team” or an event name).
-
3
Show the QR code
Hit Generate Link, then Show QR. You can display it on screen or Download PDF for a print-ready poster.
-
4
People scan and join
Scanning opens the join page in their browser. They enter their email, confirm the 6-digit code moood sends them, and they are in your organisation. New people are then prompted to download the moood app to start responding.
invite individuals
Send a personal invite by email or link
When you want to add a specific person (and pick their role), use a single-use invite. Drop in their email and moood sends it, or generate a one-time link to share however you like.
-
1
Open Invitations in the dashboard
settings Administration chevron_right Invitations chevron_right Single-Use
-
2
Add an email, or leave it blank
Enter an address and moood emails the invite for you. Leave it empty and you’ll get a one-time link to paste into a DM or your own email.
-
3
They accept and land in your org
The invite verifies who they are and adds them to your organisation automatically, with no manual approval step.
-
4
Set their role
From Members, give people the access they need. Roles decide who can send pulses and who can invite others.
send pulses
Send a pulse to your team
A pulse is a single check-in that lands on people’s phones at the right moment. There are three ways to schedule one: straight from your calendar, from the web dashboard, or directly in the moood app.
-
1
Send a calendar invitation
Add
pulse@moood.inas a guest on any meeting. moood reads the time and attendees and schedules a pulse to fire when the meeting starts. -
2
Send from the dashboard or moood app
Create a pulse directly in the web dashboard or the moood app, and choose your options:
- Pulse Train: keep a window open for follow-up pulses, or leave off to send a single pulse request.
- Feedback: let people add a written note after they respond.
- Token reward: award a token to everyone who answers.
who can do what
Roles & access
Set a person’s role from Administration → Members.
The owner
Full control of the organisation: invites, members, pulses, and results, plus org-wide settings. The only role that can lock the org’s theme, and it can’t be demoted or removed.
Day-to-day administrator
Invite people, manage members and their roles, create pulses, and see results across the whole org. Everything an Org Admin does except owning org-level settings.
Runs the check-ins
Creates and schedules pulses and sees results for the whole organisation, without the member and org-settings controls that Admins have.
Runs their own pulses
Creates and schedules pulses, and sees results only for the ones they organised. Can’t invite people or change settings.
Reads the results
Views sentiment and analysis across all of the org’s pulses, but can’t create pulses or manage people. The read-only analyst.
Responds
Receives pulses and answers them. Everyone on moood can do this, and it’s the default for the people you invite.
